All I have on my mind is how we became the people we have grown into, with all the history that remains. Oh, I will go on expeditions in search of history. I'll explore like Jacque Cousteau, publish all that I have seen.
And it will all go into the books, making me a famed man. Oh I'll go down in history as a quiet, kind man. I'll be able to live.
I'll find myself a position, where academy pays my bills. Lecture all the growin' minds, about history that's been instilled. I will praise the Native "Indians". Pay homage to their despair. Spew all the names of the dead, with all the horrors that they've instilled.
I'll settle down with my long time girl somewhere quaint, out in Seattle. I'll live the rest of my life as a quiet, kind man. Oh I'll be able to live.

Damned if it's cold outside, 'cause I don't want to go. We've got a blizzard coming slow...slow...slow... Moving around is not an option. Ten feet of snow I'll proceed with caution. Won't be buried alive oh no...no...
Damned if I'll let this snow hold me back. I've got my shovel but it's strength that I lack. Whoever said that courage was enough, throw them in this storm and wish them luck! I swear I won't be buried alive.
You see my dear this Midwest state has never witnessed elements this great in half a century, thus panic spreads across the land, but I'm the man with a plan. So let me settle my fear of commitment my dear, and I can promise you absolute focus. Focus on passion and accomplishments, oh I'm confident I am capable. Oh I know I'll go far.
Damned if I'll wait and sit for the go ahead, before I make my move, I won't be led. I'm my own leader, I'll do what I want. I'm for the duties that were laid down by Kant. It's' all a "categorical imperative" thought.

All the ghost will hide until the fear settles down before they return. I won't tell a soul. I'm occupied with thinking of a third belief to live by, to die by. You can take me to the grave and throw me on trial, I swear I didn't say a thing.
I've been kicked to the streets. These past five years have been a real treat. To think I was once apart of the upper middle class, taking advantage of those lower than us on the pyramid scheme, that we try to barrage with our self esteem. It's something to live by, and I can't say a thing.
When I've made my mark, I promise I won't forget those nights we spent within our jurisdiction. When I'm back on top, I'll re-think the way I hold myself around those who once helped me. And they'll see me, but damned if I'll give a thing, 'cause I know that they can't say a thing.

I will stand, I will stand outside. With my speakers and microphone. Fall claim to praise, fall claim to praise the gospel, while denouncing everyone.
Why can't I persecute others, when we've gone through it all, and fair is fair. It's an eye for eye.
I will sing, I will sing "Hallelujah!", as I witness them come towards me. They will bring, bring me to the stake. Set fire to me for my beliefs.
Who's to say they can't persecute me, when they've seen...seen it all, and fair is fair. It's an eye for eye.

I'll be waiting for you, but not restricted to one place. I'll be traveling across the states hoppin' trains. I'll collect the knowledge of my fellow people. Make my way back before you awake.
I met Chris in Tuscon. But, you might as well call him Christ 'cause he's a holy man or so he says...Bring you to Sodom and Gomorrah. Feed you free drinks all night and send you on your way.
I ran into Big Earl, walkin' dazed in L.A. He was a big, big man with a big rig at hand, I hitched a ride. It was a straight shot to Chicago as he told me his stories. Good god, I learned how kind people could be.
So darling, I'll be waitin'. Not restricted to one place. I'll be traveling across the states hoppin' trains. I'll collect the knowledge of my fellow people. Make my way back before you awake.

I barely missed the chair down in penitentiary. Now I'm wading through the river to see a pastor about my past mistakes. In hopes that he could raise the stakes. By washing me clean of my sins.
Can't believe I'm going down this road again, to pay a little visit to the devil. To see if I could barter my soul for peace and quiet, on this low and barren land. We'll see if it's worth the fruit at hand.
The beast looked at me with a diabolic grin, and asked me where I was the day they passed out "Common Sense". Because he accompanied Thomas Paine. Made sure to spread false prophecies. Sent the peasants out blind to share rich fallacies.
Oh I'm beginning to think I'll regret my decision. What's done is done, I'm in quite the position. Between you and me, I'll say it's deserving so long as there's something to be learned. I won't let this soul go to waste.

All I ever wanted was to leave this toil behind. Fall from the "pull" of the land, to see and live my life. All I ever wanted in life was to see the world, captured in the essence of being surrounded by my friends and family. And all I'll ever want for us is to be care free. Not constrained to an income in order to obtain what isn't free.
